Job Description:
Supervise and coordinate activities of crew engaged in operating and maintaining engines, boilers, deck machinery, and electrical, sanitary, and refrigeration equipment aboard ships.
Maintain and repair engines, electric motors, pumps, winches, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
Monitor and test operations of engines and other equipment to identify malfunctions and their causes.
Perform general marine vessel maintenance and repair work, such as repairing leaks and refueling.
Start engines to propel ships and regulate engines and power transmissions to control speeds of ships.
Supervise marine engine technicians engaged in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical marine vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on ship machinery and equipment.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with ship systems and equipment.
Leadership: Lead and manage a team of engineering technicians.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Operations: Oversee the operation of ship systems, including propulsion, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Skills Requirements:
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of marine systems, machinery, and equipment.
